John:

It is always fun and exciting to share your passion with you. You are a truly an artist behind the lens and I always enjoy watching the best of the best do their craft. Weather your shooting in a dilapidated old barn somewhere obscure or Vancouver islands most posh resort you always find the magic and beauty and capture it forever.

This, right here, was my last session of the year. Fitting, as it is a sign of what 2011 will bring -

F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S-N-E-S-S

January is pretty much booked with fabulous family sessions, newborns and maternity and the summer wedding season is incredible. I mean, really incredible, with great variety in people and locations.

Justine and Phillip scooped my last summer wedding date (note I still have a few spots available in the fall and possibly the spring.) and like finding their location of Strathcona Lodge, it all fell into place perfectly.

While they were here visiting from Nova Scotia we managed to squeeze in an engagement session and get to know each other a bit. I adored Justine from the moment our disjointed phone calls and phone tag started and when I met her in person she was just as fantastic as we thought she would be (nice move Justine!.)

Both her and Phillip are doctors who met while in med school, with the way they laugh together, I can see how their senses of humor helped them survive the trials of med-school and will take them far in life. They are both crazy nice, fun, stunning and ever so patient while I ran them around in the rain.

I collaborated on a little special project for this engagement session, but it won't be done until the new year, so check these two out now, and you can see more of them in January.

The men were chilling in the hot tub, the woman were giddy, and the scene was being set for Tara and Craig's beach wedding at Dolphin's Resort in Campbell River.
I love photographing the bride getting ready in their quaint and romantic rooms, and Tara's exquisite dress fit the ambiance perfectly. Romantic. She arrived by rowboat, and was lead to her beaming husband to be.
The rain joined us on and off, and really, looking back it was perfect - it wasn't cold, and the misty skies played perfectly into Tara and Craig West Coast Wedding.

I couldn't have asked for a easier group of family or wedding party to work with, they were happy, easy going and fun  - thank you! You made our day.

Tara and Craig, your wedding was lovely, you are such a handsome, classic looking couple - and seriously, Tara - you and that dress were meant to be together.

This is my last wedding of the year and I couldn't have asked for a betting closing chapter.

She could have been wearing her oldest pair of pajamas, or a tattered pair of jeans, it wouldn't have mattered because Danielle would have looked beautiful. Despite the stunning dress, and perfectly done hair and makeup, it was Danielle's smile that gave me goosebumps. I have seen her smile before, at our engagment shoot and during our meetings,  but not like this. This was special.

When I went to meet Lonny before the ceremony, he had a different energy, a nervous one - Lonny, I think you take the pacing award, and your nerves and excitement were so sweet and such a  testament to how much you love Danielle.

When Danielle and Lonny called me to book their wedding I had already reached my yearly cap, but thanksfully my office manager Christine, who knew Danielle, told me I really shouldn't say no. I can see why. First off for their wedding reception dinner they served, what I now know is called BRINNER, that is breakfast-dinner - and who isn't a fan of that!
From the get-go these two have been fun, sweet and real - watching them interact with each other, they way they laugh together, is a fairytale.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank- you - you both shine so brightly and I enjoyed every minute of your beautiful day. (I feel a little sad that your wedding is over, but am so looking forward to designing your album.)

We chose a rather unique song for their slideshow, only fitting for a couple where the groom entered to the Star Wars Theme. To see the show larger and with music click HERE

christine:

Danielle and Lonny, the song is my fault, Karen needed some convincing, but I made her. Hope you love it as much as we do! Congratulations, what a fabulous day!
