It's hard to write about this wedding, because it really is just a feeling. I first felt it when Danielle came into my studio to talk about her wedding, but really she just talked about Justin and her love for him. I felt it during our engagement session, when they stayed embraced in each others arms. I felt it in our planning sessions, when they spoke so sweetly about the other.
Their wedding day was their day to celebrate them. To rejoice in being best friends, to appreciate how much they love each other's smile, how she loves his sense of humour and how he loves how much she cares.
The day started with them both getting ready on Mt. Washington. He was good natured, with a little extra pacing in his movement. She wavered between emotional and giddy. They both looked stunning. The moving ceremony took place with the mountains as a backdrop, under an arch made by the groom and his groomsmen. After photographs, they entered into a room of friends and family ready to celebrate them.
Their love for each other seemed to radiate as the other couples in the room started cuddling a little bit closer, checking each other out a little longer. This was a wedding steeped in the true meaning of marriage.
Thank you Danielle and Justin, I am just all that better off, knowing you and being inspired by your love and commitment for each other.

Enjoy the slideshow, and feel free to leave a comment ...

Oh, engagement sessions - how I love you.  Let me count the ways.
- it's romantic
- you get to put on adorable outfits and cuddle
- you find your mojo in front of the camera, I know you have it, together, we make it shine

Engagement session with Lindsey and Tony? Let me count the ways I adore you.
- the muddy cow filled barn (scent included)  didn't scare you away
- you radiated togetherness. I could tell by how you looked at each other, how you laughed, how you finished each others sentences, and listened to each others stories that you were sharing, even when you knew how they ended
- even as you plan a huge wedding, you are seeing so much beyond that, talking about your future and working on creating it
- Tony brought a blue ruffled 1970's suit
- Lindsey is full of adorable sass and beauty
- Together you are just right

Thank you for the fabulous evening, I am so excited to be your wedding photographer. If I had to step in a foot of wet manure (which I did) there isn't any other couple I would rather do it with!

Lindsey:

LOVE these!! Can't wait to see the rest! We had a blast and can't wait to share our wedding day with you - there likely won't be any cow manure puddles for you to frolick in, but I'm sure we can find something just as exciting.

When friends book portrait session I get a bit nervous - excited, yes, but also nervous. So, when Booker and Twyla, who are new friends of mine booked their session I had a million ideas swirling through my head. We needed to capture their edgy side, their natural side, their love of each other, their commitment to their family and their love of rollerderby - yes, rollerderby!
Twyla and Booker have been married 26 years and still are learning and adventuring together. From raising their two boys, to renovating, road tripping, and enjoying day to day life they are strongly connected. When Twyla (aka Ruby Whipper) fell for the sport, rather than become a derby widow, Booker (Book-'er) took a lead roll in organizing reffing for the new North Island League.
I admire them, for their commitment to shared experience and for making their relationship the heart of their family.

Carrie and Denny celebrated their relationship with a TENder Session. We met in a field and then headed out to enjoy the evening.  Within the first three frames it was easy to capture their nature as a couple - it is obviously one of trust, adoration and friendship.
There were so many moments when Carrie was stealing a glance at Denny, and when Denny looked towards Carrie his eyes lit up.
These photos are just a snippet of our session, I had WAY to many favourites, so it was hard to choose - these two are so fabulous in front of the camera!
This year, photographing our TENder sessions (which were part of my Ten year anniversary, Ten months of celebration,) has been a highlight. It is wonderful to see couples, married, with children, taking time to celebrate and record their relationship. It says a lot about who they are.

I first met Mackenzie and Kevin when Christine recommended them for my house mortgage and I was a convert. Ask anyone who uses their services and they will tell you they have never been taken better care of my anyone in the financial services area.  It was the type of experience that makes you want to tell all your friends, even when they aren't asking, and even when it has nothing to do with a conversation you may be having.

Next, I photographed their family, Mackenzie, Kevin and daughter Payton. Then them with their extended family, then some engagement photos. I began to realize why they were so good at their business, because they care, and they aren't the type of people that go half way for you.

Now, I consider them friends and being chosen to photograph their wedding was a real honour.

All day I kept marvelling at the magic the two of them have. They obviously are the best of friends - from working together, raising Payton, planning a wedding or planning their future - they are always laughing, at each other, at themselves, at the life that surrounds them.
These two are a power duo. They run a fabulous business, Kevin also teaches at the college, Mackenzie teaches aerobics and is involved in Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, they parent, travel,  throw fabulous parties, all while making time to think about and give to the people in their lives.

So, it was wonderful to see a day all about them, and their love for each other. They opted for a first look before their ceremony, which was a beautiful sentimental moment, then photos, the stunning ceremony, some champagne followed by an intimate  dinner and a reception which was opened up to many friends.
Throughout their day, Kevin was stealing glances at the stunning Mackenzie and she seemed to laugh every time she was with him.

These two have figured out the true meaning of the word partnership, and together I know their life will be full, joyful and successful.  Much love to you both!
