Stefanie and David are some of the most down to earth, honest to goodness nice people a gal could ever photograph. It was such a treat to be at their wedding.  People came from all over the world to celebrate with them. It was an intimate affair, in that you felt  that you were at a secret, very special party and that everyone there was close enough with the bride or groom to have an "inside joke" with them. Everyone definitely felt comfortable to let loose. The tears were flowing during the ceremony and people were unconsciously letting loose on the dance floor later in the evening.

Every bit of the planning had a person touch, which Stef and David's family and friends all worked hard to create.

It was a beautiful wedding, for a couple  who already have a strong history and are blessed to have future surrounded by people who love and adore them.

Stefanie and David, thank you for your humour, your gorgeous personalities. David you are incredibly handsome and Stefanie, you have no idea what an incredible beauty you are (Kate Winslet is lucky to look like you.)

Phebe - any one who knows Phebe knows unique would be one of the top words to describe her. She is a true original,  she is intriguing and full of layers. She simply is just a beautiful person, who knows who she is.

Joanne is one of my oldest Comox Valley friends and for that I am fortunate, and she also is one of my wedding assistants, and for that my bride and groom's are fortunate.  Joanne is funny, she has fantastic timing, and she is so real, that being around her a breath of fresh air and addictive. Whenever I spend time with her, I just want more of her. She is a teacher, a giver, and a great beautiful friend.

Marieke is brave, she is a city girl who has found her way in the small town. I don't think she does anything half way, from exercising, to her work to being an amazing mama. She is brave and inspiring.

Caieta, a friend of Phebe's, was a new face in the group - way to Caieta! She jumped right in and brought a really fun energy to the night. Her laugh and humour kept us in stitches. Thanks Caieta, you have so much style and life.

February 8, 2010 // my life / news
I read many blogs and I came across one the other day that gave me ideas on how to organize my 2010 gift buying list in a pretty way. Are you crazy? How many of us even have lists for the whole year of who  we are going to buy gifts for, what they are going to receive and when? Do these type of people exist and if so are you telling me that some of them really have time and motivation to make the list pretty?

I have a gift box to send out by the end of the week and on the floor of my room are a few things that are going in the box. By laying them where I could easily trip on them I am constantly reminded of the few things I have to finish up for the box. By Pretty, no. Effective, yes.

I eat up blogs on how to make things pretty, I once even had a subscription to Real Simple Magazine (I'm a sucker for nice clean design work,) until every time the magazine arrived I was hypnotized into thinking I had to go to the Container Store in order to have my life organized. (Dear Container Store, no offence meant, I am probably just bitter that you don't have a sore anywhere remotely close to where I live.)

My client and friend Emma Payton has started a blog with some cut-to-the-chase practical advice about being organized. Don't let how pretty her blog is throw you off, it will be full of easy to implement snippets of advice.
Emma runs a consulting business and we have hired her many times to come into the office  and help us smooth out our efficiency and implement some plans. She brings extensive knowledge and a real-life attitude to what she does. Basically, she is the read deal.

Check her out and keep an eye on her blog as she builds on it.
