Here are more images from the epic Bella Party.
Mel, our leader, without her we wouldn't ever see each other so I had to blog two photos of her.
Thanks Mel, for making us happen.
Mel's eyes are full of stories and sincerity, it is like she has lived way longer than her years - she is timeless. I am confident Mel could live anywhere, in any era and she would make it her home, she would fit right in, find her tribe andshe would live her life fully and make a difference. Mel, this photo has so much in it that I adore about you.

Marcie, whose laugh could take away your bad day in moments and then she would follow it up by saying something wise, (Marcie, why don't I have you on speed-dial?)
Sarah, at home fishing in gumboots or diva'ing it up. That is when she isn't cooking, growing food, teaching, crafting, reading or sewing.
There is much goodness happening this weekend.
Today
13 of the most fabulous women are coming into my studio for a Bella Party tonight. Each year at the YANA auction I like to donate something big, the last few years it has been to "own me for a day" this year a group of my gals bid on me for a Bella Party. I am so excited, these women are smart, very witty, kind, real, funny and so much more. I can't wait to show them how beautiful they are. Chrystal from Roots the Salon will be on site doing her make-up magic and the evening is being catered by Brambles Market.
I am excited, and nervous. These woman mean a lot to me. They have all been so supportive, personally and professionally. Even though I often only see them once a month, it is so empowering and meaningful to know that a group of women has each other's back. I plan on growing old, meeting them once a month to talk books, food and everything else.
Tomorrow
Christine and I will be at the Bellies, Birth and Babies fair from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Filberg Centre. We have been incredibly impressed with how well organized this event, hosted by the Comox Valley Doulas, has been, so please tell your friend and come down and say hello.
The event is free, and there will be workshops throughout the day.
Afterwards, I am off to an evening of beer tasting at Surgenor's Brewery with my Roller Derby team. Yes, I am on a Roller Derby team, but that deserves a future post of it's own.
Sunday
Chilling and computer work because......
Monday
Off on holiday for a week to Tofino (Christine will be holding the fort down here if you need anything.)
Looking for a little awesomeness in your morning. Check out one of my favorite blogs (reading the headline is usually all I need to get a little smile - 1000 Awesome Things

Arlene came in for a BELLA SESSION, which was a gift from a family member. I am so excited about these type of sessions, moms are often the least photographed person in the family, and it drives me crazy that women don't have photos of themselves. I have been photographing all types of women and all types of BELLA SESSIONS - and I am buzzed about it!
Arlene shone throughout her whole session, she is absolutely stunning, and stylish to boot! Half way through the session her hubby joined us for some photos - but I wanted to make this post all about her.
She has such a stunning relaxed way about herself, she laughs and smiles easily, and it is contagious.
Thanks Arlene, for being the icing on a fabulous day - you are gorgeous!

Beautiful Photos - what a nice thing for her to have
(04.26.10 @ 02:02 PM)- I am getting a few hours alone this morning
- I am going to put together a bed in a child's room and pretend I like putting IKEA furniture together
- I am going to be really hopeful it doesn't rain as I have a top secret super stylish afternoon shoot
- I am going to drink a coffee savouring every sip
- I am going to wrap up the day by getting my exercise groove on
- I am going to be very, very happy
- I am going to start my day with something I love - my clients.
Indroducing Cheryl.
I am so pleased Cheryl decided to have a Bella Session created. We met at a beautiful spot and played amongst the grasses, rocks and river. We laughed and chatted and were totally in the moment. I feel so pleased that she now has photos of her, yes they are a gift for her partner, but they really in my mind, are for her. Women should have photos celebrating themselves - they deserve it.
Thank you Cherly, It was pure joy and inspiration just being with you!

Hi Karen, I missed you at the Pantuso Gala night last night. I bid on your Creative Portrait Session and won! Love to set up a time to get together. Er---good luck with the whole IKEA furniture putting together thing. Sounds like a nightmare...*grin* Thanks,
Chris
Fantastic Claire! Can you email me all your contact info so we can start making our plans with you! I am so excited, I just was on your blog, and I also just bought a cute yellow cardigan - but am kind of crushing on yours!

(04.19.10 @ 06:53 PM)Yow-zah!! What a stunner, beautiful photos, my dear. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday!

sdjfa;
and yes, you guessed it my clients are amazing and yes, I will be blogging more Bella's tomorrow.

We ate sushi (twice), grabbed a nice hotel room with a fantastic price, swam, had room service and then both proceeded to sleep for 11 hours - it was heaven.
We managed a little shopping, I bought both a bathing suit and a dress (neither of which I love to shop for,) - if you hit vic often check out Sarah Seeds sisters' shop Paradise Boutique on Johnson, it's a little store with a lot of what you want. They managed to make bathings suit and dress shopping very entertaining and not confidence crushing.
They set me up with a polka dot 1950's bathing suit (Thanks Laurel S. for the inspiration,) and a fancy little dress that I actually like.
My mind is going on how I can manage to go to Victoria for this little escapade monthly.
Part of my need to get away had to do with a relationship breakdown. Me and my computer were having trouble. It would work well, suck me in so I was trusting it and then treat me badly and leave me feeling frustrated and stressed. We repaired things before I went away, but I still felt like I needed some me time.
Today though, we are on a new bath and the blogging of more bella sessions can continue - such as this one of this lovely, and a little bit sassy J.
and with the hubby's guitar
I had to start out with R because she is fighting some serious bad-ass cold/flu ugliness and we all know how gorgeous we feel when we are having spastic coughing fits. Hopefully this will be a pick-me up, and she will see how absolutely stunning she is.
I also happen to have the inside scoop on R and her beauty on the outside is just as radiant as on the inside.

Thank you Karen for the fabulous experience. You took me out of my comfort zone and made me feel like million bucks! You are doing exactly what the world intended....and it's so beautiful to watch and be apart of. Huge hugs and kisses!
(01.29.10 @ 10:41 AM)Oh, Rhonda, you are so incredibly beautiful!! I had so much fun sharing this day with you, hope you feel better soon! BIG hugs, C
