Fall leaves, beautiful sunlight, happy faces, the smell of salmon who didn't quiet make it up the river (okay, erase that from the picture).
Okay, let's be serious.
Multi-generations photo sessions, they get me, they make me emotional. They remind me of when my Granny and Zeda (the Jewish word for grandfather) had their 50th anniversary and the family hired a photographer. I look back at those photos, and despite my perm, and black and white poofy lace layered dress with the large shoulders, and even despite the fact that the photos were not in focus at all (no really not at all!) - they meant the world to me then, and are a complete treasure to me now.
So, as I often say to my clients, you think your photos are for you, and yes, they are for you, but the true value of them lays with your children - who see them hanging on your wall and are reminded of the importance of family, and years from now will appreciate even more that you took the time to have them created.
So, there were fall leaves, there was sun, but the abundance lied in the feeling.
Websters I challenge you to see this photo only as a black and white. Yes, there are fall leaves in the shot, with their stunning colors, but what I see and feel when I take in this photo is the connection to the grandchildren -the feeling - the love.

and of course there was play ....
