About Me

Hello and welcome to my photo blog. I am Karen McKinnon, a Vancouver Island based photographer - a gal fortunate to be living my passion. The blog is where you can see recent sessions, keep in touch with what is new around here (and I promise you it is never dull) and get a better sense of who I am, what I love and how I show it.

Thanks for visiting. Please leave a comment and let me know you were here - it really does make me smile!

November 24, 2009 // news portraits
There is so much going on around here and someone just pointed out to me that we have 30 days until Christmas Eve - at which point I went and put a pot of coffee on (actually I asked Christine very sweetly to do it,) and took stock of my to-do list.

We actually are in great shape around here, totally caught up, but working hard on Christmas Card designs, booking some weddings for 2010, some shoots, a fund-raiser, and of course printing and framing. I never like to leave things to the last minute.

I had some great shoots last week, beautiful babies, and entertaining toddlers, but this time of year we are not able to get everything up on the blog.
I think this is such an exciting time of year to be capturing newborns and maternity images, what a way for a couple to end the year.
This is a recent favorite from Robyn and Jordan's session, now we are patiently waiting to meet their new addition.

I have also decided it is time to get some new wheels and car shopping is not as fun as going to pick out a new pair of cute shoes - oh the pressure! Toyota? Hyundai? Subaru? Trying to stay focused on the practical and not get seduced by extras. It's a lot to decide.

Go BMW you'll never go back. Plus it'll be way more fun than shoe shopping. ; )

Really? I have had fantastic experience with the Toyota Dealership. Sorry, you didn't but I have found them great, honest and reliable
